Latosa Escrima & Philippine Boxing
DVD
Product SKU: BUDO-GOTTEL2
By Guro Markus Göttel
An important, but still very unknown area of Filipino martial arts is 'Filipino Boxing', also known as Pinoy Boxing, Dirty Boxing, Panantunkan, etc. Starting with Bruce Lee, Wing Chun and Escrima (Eskrima, Kali, Arnis, etc.) have formed a strong connection.
Grandmaster René Latosa's training concepts and fighting strategies teach us to use all weapons realistically with a single system. In this video, Guro Markus Göttel focuses on a very important aspect of Escrima, the transition from fighting with different weapons to empty-hand fighting.
We will see the attack techniques, with weapons and empty hand, training exercises to develop power, balance, distance, free sparring, the concept of the "box", and free applications with weapons and empty hand, with long stick, short stick, Tonfa, Kerambit, machete, ... a single system that is easy to learn, with simple principles and concepts, and which can be extrapolated to armed and empty-hand combat.
The concepts are the "glue" that holds everything together and should be understood more as physical training.
An attack can be carried out in many different ways, but physically it is always a transfer of energy. In Escrima we try to improve this transfer of energy as much as possible through the understanding of the concepts and their physical application and not through one technique or another.
This can undoubtedly serve all martial arts as a tool for their specific interpretation. 50 Min. Languages included : English, Español, Italiano, Français
Languages: English, Español, Français, Italian
Running Time: 50 Minutes
